Our Story
Sleek Wood Boats was created by Christian Mesh in 2022 to find ways to get more rowers back on the water.
As a young professional and long time rower, he struggled with living near a beautiful lake without boat storage options or room at his apartment. Frustrated with the lack of easily accessable rowing options, in 2017 he designed a new rowing shell from the ground up to solve this problem. In the first season of enjoying this prototype shell, he was shocked by how many former rowers came by the dock to inquire about where he got his boat and where they could purchase one. His office job at the time kept him quite busy, though in the background this idea continued to grow.
In 2021 he quit his job and decided to try to fill the need of the many rowers he had met who were unable to get back on the water. The better part of two years was spent building and refining prototypes, until an design was settled upon. He currently spends his days in the woodshop, working dilligently in the goal of helping people get back on the water.
